I've always been a strong advocate of heart health. Whether it comes in the form of watching cholesterol intake, actively exercising, or just eating a good diet, my heart comes first.
Just exercising 30 minutes a day a few times a week can greatly reduce your risk of cardiovascular diseases. No matter how busy I think I am I can always find time to at least go for a little walk. Often I have more energy and become more productive afterwards making exercise a win-win situation.
Things are a bit more complicated, depending on how you look at it, with food. It's easy to get overwhelmed by all the terms such as types of fats, particular vitamins, etc. It's so simple to eat well, though. Maintain that your food is fresh, rarely fried, balanced and consists of mostly vegetables. Eat whole grains, simple sugars, natural fats, and again, lots of veggies. I'll be writing more about omega-3s, polyunsaturated fats, and antioxidants in the near future.
And lastly, I take supplements to make sure my heart is ticking along as it should be. I strongly believe that Ubiquinona-L combined with astaxanthin perfectly rounds out your well-balanced diet. Ubiquinona-L (our brand of CoQ-10) really starts to fall off in the human heart around age 30, yet it's critical to maintain proper levels for a healthy heart. AstaTrienol works synergistically with the Ubiquinona-L to help regulate your body's inflammatory response along with a host of other things. You can buy the package together at a discount here.
Take care and go get some exercise.
